Andrè obtained his BSc (Botany and Soil Science) from North-West University (1992 to 1994). In 1995 he was appointed by the ARC – Institute For Tropical And Subtropical Crops in Nelspruit as researcher in the Cultivar Development department working on citrus cultivar evaluation . In December 2001 he joined SRCC’s Agronomy department. There he functioned as Agronomist until he was appointed to the position of SRCC Chief Agronomist in May 2017 and held that position until end September 2021. Andrè joined CRI in October 2021.
