Citrus Research International - Nelspruit.

The CRI facilities at Nelspruit form the head office for CRI research and stand on 3,1 ha of ground donated by the Solomon family of the adjacent Crocodile Valley Citrus Company. In contrast to many other crop research units, CRI-Nelspruit is not surrounded by orchards of its own. However, with the aid of growers, the research staff are readily able to execute co-operative projects in all production areas of southern Africa, including Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Mozambique. Due to its location in a subtropical area, CRI researchers at Nelspruit are sometimes involved in research on other subtropical crops besides citrus, although the research focus remains on citrus.
